  • Visiting visa rejected

Hi recently I applied for my mom's tourist visa and got rejected. The reason for that is she had a US student visa stamped in her old passport in 2007 when she was working as a nurse in Middle East. She never has been to US and her visa expired automatically within the time period and all this happened at the time of recession .Then she has also visited her brother in U.k once. Now she is retired and has never been working since last 10 years. But the officer who interviewed her thought she won't come back from US .Are there chances for her to get her visa stamped when applied next time.

Her chances of being approved for a vistor visa are very low. The previous student visa stamping probably had nothing to do with the denial. Many people try and bring their parents here to the U.S. and then if they are able to, will then file for the parent's green card. She is retired and based on the denial, I would assume cannot show strong enough ties to home country for them to think her not an immigration risk. Of course as mentioned as you can do is re-apply.

This is my opinion and not legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.
