  • Incorrect Mother Name in her passport.

    Hi

I am currently in USA on L1 visa. I want to do a B2 Visa for my parents.

All names in my and my father's passport are correct. Including my mother name in my passport and spouse name is my father's passport.

My mother name is wrong in her passport - spelling mistake. also my father name in her in passport (spouse name section) is also incorrect - spelling mistake.

Her original name is Margaret Benjamin Fernandes and her passport shows Margareth Benjameen Fernandes. also spouse name as Benjameen Fernandes where actual name is Benjamin Fernandes.

Correct Name : Margaret Benjamin Fernandes (in both I and father's passport)
Wrong Name : Margareth Benjameen Fernandes (in Mother's Passport)

Is there any problem for her in B2 visa? Do I need to correct her name in her passport and then apply for visa?

    Appriciate any prompt reply.

    Thanks
    Benet

No Need. In other names section of DS-160 you can put the correct name and during interview if VO asks explain.

      Thanks rcamx.

I do not want to take a chance so I applied for reissue passport. I just did a affidavit with correct name and presented other documents where my mother name is correct like Adhar card, pan card, Father's passport. PSK has given her a new passport without police inquiry as there was no change in address. My mom got her passport within 3 days. Now all OK with her name in new passport and soon apply for B1/2.

      Thanks
