Occupation on DS 156

Hello,

I have passed my MD in medicine from Mumbaiin Jan 2006.Am planning to apply in september for a B2 visa for my USMLE step 2 CS. What do I mention in questions 20 and 21 on the ds 156? Technically as I have not yet got my degree certificate Im still a student.( But I do have a passing cert)
Also if I write not employed , does it affect my chances of getting a visa?

Im mentioning " giving my USMKLE step 2 CS" as purpose of visit.

Please could someone reply soon, as appointment dates are being gobbled up so fast.

I would suggest saying that you would like to visit US for tourist purpose during your break and then go back to India for your job. This will show strong ties and if you come and go back now when you apply for F1 visa later (for studying medicine here) your chances will be high as well.
