Duration of stay B1/B2

Hello please i have a question which goes as this.
My friend was issued 2 yeas visa to visit America from Nigeria and was given the duration of 6 months to stay in America even though his purpose of coming to America was 2 weeks and now staying one month.
Now we want to know if the 6 month duration of stay giving to him is multiple entry or single entry?

And also can he exit America and come back with that 6 month period of time stated on his I 94? Or he would have to go back and do a drop box for another visa?

Please I will be very excited if more light can be shed on this questions.

Status only exists while in the US. Once he leaves the US, the I-94 and the period of admission are no longer relevant. The next time he wants to enter the US, he will be entering anew based on his visa and given a new period of admission (assuming they let him in). The only exception is if he goes for less than 30 days to Canada and/or Mexico only, he can return on his original I-94 and period of stay using Automatic Revalidation.
