  • B2 Visa rejected

    Hi,

I applied from Riyadh Saudi Arabia with my wife and 2 kids. I am here in saudi arabia from 18 years and had a decent salary and bank balance. I went to Dubai only

Unfortunately VO rejected by visa. Everthing went smoothly here is the interview went like this

    Me : Good Morning
    VO : Good Morning

    VO : Passports
    Me : Given

VO : where are you working
    ME : Told

    VO : Working as
    ME : Told

VO : For how many years with the current employer
    ME : Told

VO : For how many years in Saudi Arabia
    ME : 18 years

VO : Asked my wife asking for her name
    Wife : Told yes

VO : How many years you told me 15 years
    ME : No 18 years

VO : you went to any other country
    ME : I said Dubai

VO : with your 2 kids
ME : No 1 because the youngest one is just 4 months and we went in 2014

VO : What is your eldest one doing
ME : I said he is in school

VO : What is the school name
    Me : Told

Then he typed about 3 min and said you do not qualify for the visa now & handed me the white paper with section 214 (b) I don't know what went wrong. He did not look any documents also.

What do you think I should apply with my wife only the next time. Pls for your suggestion

    Thanks

Sorry to know that friend. As I stated in an earlier post I am generally seeing denials when whole family is applying for B2 visa.

      Hi rcmax,

Shall I apply with my wife only so that I will have strong reason to come back for kids.

I don't think anything went wrong with your interview, especially in your case being in SA for 18 years are strong ties. Based on reading all the posts here I have a strong feeling that they have a blanket ban on full family B2 issuance no matter how strong the ties. Applying only with your wife seems to be the logical option.

          Thanks for your advise.

One more question if I will get approved along with my wife then I can apply later for my kids or they will refuse.

First get approved with your wife and then think of the kids later, no one can say.

              Hi rcmax,

I want to apply with my wife only just want to know on ds160 in section (Previous U.S. Travel Information) and in question Have you ever been refused a U.S. Visa, or been refused admission to the United States, or withdrawn your application for admission at the port of entry? I have to say yes and what should I write the reason I can write the reason like this APPLIED FOR NONIMMIGRANT VISA (B2) AND IT WAS REFUSED UNDER SECTION 214(B) OF THE U.S. IMMIGRATION AND NATIONALITY ACT. I have to mention the date also when I got refused.

Should I select yes, that I had been refused or just I can say no.

              Please for your soonest reply.

                Hey Maqish,
                Write 'YES'
For Explain: write 'I was denied B2 visa in 2017'

They have it on their computer so don't lie. That is what I wrote for my sister's DS160 when she went for interview last week after two rejections in 2004 and 2006, she got it this time. They had her 10 year old rejection info on their system as the VO asked her you were denied previously.

                  Hi rcmax,

Just need your opinion on this,

                  1) I cannot change anything in my application from last time I can only go this time with my wife as you know they refused me last time when I apply with my family (wife and 2 kids)
                  2) Can I say that I am going to US to celebrate my 10 marriage anniversary (its my 10 marriage anniversary in October 2017) or just tourism is ok. Last time I said tourism only.
3). Should I select the purpose of travel (a) Business & Tourism (B1/B2) or (b) Tourism & Medical Treatment (B2), last time I select B2 only Tourism & Medical Treatment.

                  Appreciate your soonest reply.

Just say tourism which is what you said last time so it is consistent and anyway consulate does not care about marriage anniversary and ultimately what you will be doing is tourism. Select 'Tourism and Medical Treatment'
