Applying Visitor Visa for Family while in India

Hi,

I am on L2-EAD visa and planning to apply visitor visa for my family while in India so that they can accompany me while going back to US.

Wanted to check if it is OK to apply the visitor visa while I am in India for my family as I won't be in US at the time of Visa interview and it would appear on the I-94 ? Should I mention in the invitation letter about my current presence in India ?

You would not apply for the visas, they would apply for their own visas. Also, you could state in the invitation letter, that you are currently in India and you are inviting them to visit you and would like for them to travel with you upon your return trip to the U.S.
