  • Visitor Visa appointment at Chennai

    Hi,

I am currently on L1 B visa and my wife is on L2 visa. We both are working in US. I wish to invite my mother, my father-in-law(FIL) and my mother-in-law(MIL) for a visit to US for 4-5 months. As I have to apply for a visitor visa I wish to know if it would be advisable to apply for one single appointment for all three of them at the Chennai consulate so that they can appear as family (or as travel companions) for the interview. This is because presently only English appointments are available and my father-in-law is the only one who can manage speaking in English. If all 3 of them go together for the interview then my FIL can speak on behalf of my mother and MIL.

Could someone please help me with this.

    Thank you in anticipation......

    I wouldn't recommend

I wouldn't recommend all the family members appearing for the visa together. chances of getting visa is very low. in 2004 at chennai consulate my inlaws and my SIL, BIL and my nephew appeared for visa. The CO officer was very surprised to see all of them and he immediately said he cannot issue visa for all of them but only one of them. my in laws couldn't decide ...so there visa got rejected. This is from experience and my opinion. If u decide to go ahead with all family members be prepared to who wants to take visa IF Co offers only one visa. But Chances are very low. GOOD LUCK.
