  • Parents visa refused

    hello...
I Applied tourist visa for my parents twice but both time it was refused..First time i applied my parents and my brother tourist visa & on 2nd february 2017 their
visa was refused...they did not give any reason.. first time visa was sponsored by my husband who is on H1B. Second time on 8th march 2017 we applied tourist visa only for my
parents & it was self sponsored by my parents but again they refused the tourist visa & when my parents asked them why they can't get tourist visa to visit her daughter & family, interviewer said you are not going for tourism purpose..but he refused again & finally interviewer with folded hand said sorry I can't give you visa... me and my parents are very upset..
Can someone tell me how can they say that they r not going
    for tourism purpose....???

    Thank You

        Hi Bhawana,

Sorry to hear about your parents' experience. Can you please summarize the interview Q&A's to shed more light in this case?

        Best Regards,

        Ravi.

The visa officer feels like they are an immigration risk. Why? It could be many things. Not strong enough ties to home country could be one reason. How are you here in the U.S.? On a visa, green card, naturalized citizen? No matter what documentation is provided or who is paying for the trip, if the visa officer for whatever reason feels like they would be an immigration risk, they will deny the visa.

Also, India is a high immigration risk country for the U.S. It is very common for parents to come here on tourist visas to visit their children who have worked here and have obtained a green card and then once they arrive, their children file for their family based green cards and assist them with immigrating.

This is my opinion and not legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.

VO saying "No you r lying' perplexes me. There must be something you wrote on the DS-160 form or maybe some information he was able to pull from somewhere that made him ask the question. Since you say they were rejected both times maybe there is some glaring discrepancy between the first and second DS-160 forms.

first time visa sponsored by my husband so i think that one b the reason of first rejection i have also dependent visa h4.. so second time my parents apply self sponsored visa. otherwise all the information between first and second DS-160 r same..

Is it refused second time also? What was the time difference between applying the visas?
