  • B2 Visa for Parents while Sponsor is on L1A visa Extension

    Hi All,

I am on L1A visa extension currently (filed last January, I think it takes 5 months time for a status change) & planning to do B2 visa for my parents. Is it a risk to do visitor visa processing while I am on extension period ? Are there higher chances for the B2 visa denial ?

Any inputs on this will be really helpful.

    Thanks
    Reghu

It will make no difference that you are on an extension. Why are you going to the U.S.? To visit our son who is there on an L1 visa. The things that will cause a denial would be if they cannot show strong ties to home country, have never traveled internationally before, do not have a purpose for travel, etc. Even if you're the one sponsoring your parents, they are the ones applying for the B2 visas.

This is my opinion and not legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.
