Make changes to DS-160 - Will old and new application both be visible to officer ?

Since editing a DS-160 is not allowed, if I make submit a new DS-160 (with payment done under old DS-160 bardcode), then I need to take both old and new confirmation pages to interview.

My question is - will consular office be able to see both the old DS-160 application and the new one, then compare them both and ask why changes were made ?
Note - These are not trivial changes like spelling error.
