  • Help!!

    Hi,

I'm from India.I want to travel to USA with my sister and my mom this year.I have submitted my application and the interview is scheduled. One of my close relative who is also a US citizen for at least 11 years. Now I have few stuffs which I need help for?

    1) How strong is my case? Both of us are students,I m going to complete my education and my sister is studying in her last year.My mom is a housewife. Provided that we have the sufficient funds to travel, plus this trip is entirely sponsored by my relative who is working, has his own house, sufficient funds plus is a law abiding citizen.

2)Will the visa generally be given to a family of women?

3)What are the advantages and disadvantages of taking regional/English interview?

4)Any other visa interview tips that would help us to get a visa?

    Thanks in advance

    Type of Visa

1)You have asked for , How strong your case was . Well that primarily depends on the type of visa you have applied of which you havent mentioned. Your case can be stronger if you are applying for a Visitor (B2) Visa or Business(B1) visa as these are just a short term visas and for which the embassy accepts the Visa application quiet easily if you are able to make them believe that you are just visiting the States for a vacation or recreational purposes . However, it is contrary to other visa types such as Resident or employment visa (H1B) . which is not that easily available based on the present conditions .

    2) And the consulate doesn't consider who is in the family and who isn't . So , Visa ca be given to a family of women

3)I think it is better to take an Interview in English as the consulate generally seeks for a person who can speak english well enough to manage themselves in the States.

4)During the interview, never give information , that isn't asked for, you could be making the person a bit suspicious and try to be calm and not panic when a question isn't understood , ask the person to repeat it.

Best of Luck and Happy Journey !
    Regards,
    Varun.
