My cousin is coming to visit me in US and applying for B2 US tourist visa. He is unmarried and not employed. While going through the forums, I saw that the chances of getting a visa with those circumstances are almost zero. So we ended up getting a **** employment certificate at a local small firm as we know the owner and added the same details to DS160, we obviously don’t have salary slips. Now I am worried as it might be brought up in the background check and might result in a ban instead of rejection. Can someone please help with the following?
• Do they do a background check about your employment details (applied from India). How often do the called your employer to verify that.
• What can be the ban for a misrepresentation of Employment for tourist visa (None, 5 year, 10 year or lifetime?) What are the chances that it will be identified and will result in a ban?
• Is it a better idea to update the DS160 now with correct information i.e. currently unemployed and bring that to the biometrics interview to update the process to new DS160.
