  • Reapplying B1/B2 Visa

    Hello
My brother applied for a B1/B2 visa along with my mom and his daughter (she is 9).. my mom was going there for renewal..
    Experience

VO : Hello please give me the passport and forms

Mom : Gave all 3 passports with forms ..

VO : Asks my brother .. are you traveling with your daughter and wife

Brother : Just my daughter and mom .. I am divorced

VO: Do you have divorced docs

Brother : Gave her the docs and also told her he has full custody of his daughter and have been separated for more than 6 years

VO: What do you do for work

Brother : He was unable to explain in detail as he has 2 jobs and manages rental property etc .. but since his English is not very good he was unable to explain all this and gave her experience letter from his first job.

VO: Sir salary listed on this is 80K is that monthly ?

Brother : No Ma’am its annual .. he should have shown at this point the other experience letter and property docs but he did not .. 

VO: Looks at my mom and says Ma’am at this point I am approving your Visa and I have to deny your son and his daughter

Mom: Can you please reconsider my grand daughter’s visa as she is very keen on going to Disney

VO: I am sorry ma’am your grand daughter has a joint application

VO Did not give any reason or reason code of rejection ... i am assuming 214(b) social and family ties but not sure.

Well I know Visa officers already do their homework and review DS160 etc .. but they did not see the invite letter or I-134
I am thinking of helping him to re-apply and this time would make sure all his job experience is listed in DS160 and he has all the paperwork .. also I will take the appointment for him in Hindi

Anything else I can do for my brother ?? any suggestions ?

Your brother would need to show stronger ties to the home country. Therefore, he should work on that first before reapplying.
