EAD status

Hi all,

I have question regarding EAD. We are here in U.S on EAD and that's what I mentioned in the DS-156 ,DS-157 forms. I have heard that vfs donh't accept this status. They are not aware of this status. Is that true? what should we mention abt the status? 485 - pending? If yes, can we change that in the DS-156 forms and how? Please, provide input as I don't want to do any mistake for the approval of visa.

Who says VFs don't accept EAD status?.. As far as I know its fine to say EAD. Also u can say AOS (Adjustment of Status)

Hi Visainfo,

For my mom,my husband sponsored.First i didnt fill the form for 31 question(Status).Then I filled manually taking another copy of DS-156 with status Pending Greencard Applicant.And send yr EAD copy,485 receipt and AP.
So everything will be fine.

You filled the status 'pending greencard applicant' not EAD? Do you think I need to change the status info in the form. Can I just reprint the form and cut the status 'EAD' and write '485-pending?

Dahlia- One of friend's in-laws visa get rejected because of EAD status. VO told them that they are not aware of this status. How is you son-in-law living in the U.S? There is no status like EAD. Can you pls comfirm if writing EAD status is fine.

Do anyone else has the same experience or it was my friend's bad luck?

question refers if Daughter or son in USA with Greencard or citizen,Then i asked in this forum.Dahlia replied that take other printout of DS-156 and in hand just write Pending Grren Card applicant.So i did like that.I ask my mom to carry both.During interview she said that i have 2 forms.So the Vo ask my mom to filll the status in Oiginal form itself and ask my mom to give.My mom did like that.I hope this helps u

You could write/type I-485 Pending with EAD and Approved I-140 (if it has been approved). I did the same on my parent's application. Simply writing EAD would not be enough as it is does not provide information about status. You could be on F-1 with EAD or on I-485 pending with a EAD.

Don't put EAD alone as status. If you are putting EAD,explain about your petition status too.

I am on EAD status and on form DS-156 question 37 we filled Yes for son and "working" (as shown as example in the form).

Do we have to give our details as EAD and pending 485 status? I didn't find them there hence i didn't enter it that way.

I already sent forms to my parents and they have interview in couple of days.

What can i do now?

EAD alone is not a status. What petition is pending you must specify.

Do you know why finger printing is carried out in consulates? What is the purpose?

I am in pending I485 for my employment based GC. Working on EAD. As i mentioned above, i already sent forms to our parents with "WORKING" in form DS 156 question 37. They have interview in 2 days.

Can you please suggest what we can do now. Appreciate your help.
