Hi All,
I owe so much to the persons maintaining this web site and to those answering the questions and posting their experiences. I keep tacking the postings on this forum for the last 6 months regularly. It guided me in all aspects from taking appointment to getting Visa stamped for my father today (May 17th). Thanks to every one….

His interview was scheduled at 9.45 AM at Chennai in Telugu. He came out of the consulate by 10.30AM. Interview went for a maximum of 10 minutes. The VO was an American gentleman. The interview started in English with greetings between the VO and my father and continued till the end without the help of translator (who is a lady standing next to VO). Here are the questions:
1. How long you want to go to USA?
A) 3 months
2. Why you want to visit USA?
A) To spend time with my grand son who is staying away from us for the last 6 years
3) Where you are staying in INDIA?
A) Living in my own house with my second son and his family in Hyderabad
4) What is your second doing?
A) He is working in YYYY Company
5) Show me the documents your son had sent from USA
My father gave the file and the VO had seen some papers and told him to go any pay the fees.
Note:- Being a senior citizen…my father seems to have got some preferential treatment while he was in the consulate…Like putting him in lines ahead of others for finger printing & Interview counters
We are waiting for the passport to know the visa period.
