question about visa

A friends visa expires the 22nd of this mth. She is having a baby on the 30th of this mth and flying back to Greece in June. I will be taking care of the baby while she is gone but I am concerned about her coming back. A few mths ago when she came back to the USA she had trouble getting her visa renewed. I know nothing about visas. I do know that she had come and gone quit a bit. Can anyone help explain how all this works?

Tourist visa is for tourism. If someone tries to stay in the US for a long time on a tourist visa, he/she is violating the purpose of the visit and may have trouble getting back into the country.
