  • In a relationship with a US citizen. In need of some advice.

    Hi all,

This is my first post, I?m in need of some advice before my interview next week in Belfast. I?m from the U.K.

I would appreciate only helpful comments and nothing negative about my decisions/personal life/relationship (some people have been).

So I?ve been in the US 3 times in the space of 12 months this upcoming March. I?m in a relationship with someone I spoke to online for around 5 years then decided it was time.

I travelled to the US under the ESTA for the first time for around 6 weeks, the second time for 8 weeks then the 3rd time for 90 days bang on. (STUPID, I know) but it wasn?t until the 3rd visit I was advised an ESTA isnt suitable for my kind of travel, and to apply for a visa because my next visit may be denied.

So I now have a non immigrant B-2 interview one week tomorrow (8th March) in Belfast, and I?m wondering if anyone can advise what my outcome shall look like. I don?t work permanently, I have disabilities that affect me working. So there goes that strong tie example of working that I?ve heard a lot about, which causes me the most worry.

I pay for my own flights, and I take my own money with me. I don?t depend on anyone, and I spend money in the US rather than take any. I?ve returned home on three occasions within the legal time period and haven?t overstayed, ever.

Will this be enough to get approved? I would never overstay a visit, and I know now that even the 90 days was stupid and could?ve went wrong (delayed flights etc)

Thanks and sorry if I missed any information out. Trying to gather everything necessary in my head.

There's really no yes or no answer that can be given for this question, your chances of approval completely depend on the VO(visa officer) that handles your interview, and also your ability to show strong ties to your home country. just go in with as much evidence as you are able to furnish, be honest and truthful during your interview and let the cards fall where they may. I wish you the best of luck. and please keep us updated on the outcome of your meeting.
This is strictly an opinion and should not be misconstrued as legal advice. The use of this information is strictly at your own risk.
