  • Can I apply visitors visa to my Aunt

    Hi all,

I am currently on F1, hoping to get H-1B this year(2018). So once I get my H-1B, I am planning to bring my Aunt to US on visitors visa(may be by November 2018).
Thing is, she is an unmarried woman, she is not an employee(doesn't work) and doesn't have any properties/assets on her name. I am more of a Son to her, thus I am planning to bring to US to visit me. Can someone guide me with necessary documents and process?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Ram

Do you have any other relatives that can accompany with your aunt to apply for the visa? How old is your aunt? It might be risky for a single, no properties/assets, and unemployed woman to apply for the visa.

      visitor visa

the most you can do is apply and see what happens. It's true that she will have a harder time getting that approval based on the information you provided.
This is my opinion not legal advice.

        Hi ANNA31,

I do not have any relatives in US who can help with that.
She is in her early 60s.

Can I have the documentation that states I am the complete sponsor for her visit? Will that be even risky?

        Thanks

I mean in your own country, do you have any relatives to apply for the visa with your aunt? Not in the US.

Unfortunately, no. She lives by herself. And I need to do all the documentation of her from here(mostly). That's what I am planning to.
