Hello everyone
I applied for the first time and appeared for the US visit visa interview at the US embassy in Islamabad on the 19th of January, 2018. The visa officer took may passport, gave me the blue slip and said you visa is approved and you will get you passport back in a few days and its been 46 days now and still no sign of the passport. When i check the status online it says its in administrative processing. No date change since the date of the interview i.e. 19th January. Below are the questions asked by the visa officer.
VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning
VO: Can i have your passport?
Me: Hands over.
VO: Why do you want to go to the USA?
Me: Tourism and travelling.
VO: Do you have any friends or family in the USA?
Me: Yes, my brother.
VO: What is his status?
Me: He is a US citizen.
VO: Will he be sponsoring you for the citizenship?
Me: No. He doesn't live in the US himself. He is settled here in Pakistan.
VO: How did he get this status?
Me: His wife is a US citizen.
VO: What do you do?
Me: Told her.
VO: What is your monthly income?
Me: Told her.
VO: Can i see your bank statement?
Me: Sure and hands over. (She goes throught it)
VO: Do you have your salary slip?
Me: No i do not coz i run my own business but i do have my national tax returns which shows my yearly income.
VO: Can i see it?
Me: Hands over and she goes through it.
VO: Are you married?
Me: Yes.
VO: How many kids do you have?
Me: Three. the third one is just born three weeks ago.
VO: Oh wow that is very recent. Congrats!
Me: Thanks.
VO: Have you traveled outside Pakistan with your kids?
Me: Yes many a times.
VO: Where?
Me: Told here.
VO: What cities in these countries?
Me: Told her.
She typed something on the computer, hands me back my bank statement, tax returns and the blue slip which had written on it "You visa has been approved" and said your application is approved and i am keeping your passport. I said thanks and left.
And now it has been a month and a half and there are no signs of the passport coming back to me. My friends and family who applied after me have received there passports and i am stuck here without the passport or visa
Anyone else has experienced the administrative processing lately and how long it took. Kindly share your views and experiences.
