Hi I see your posts are very helpful. I have situation here. I and my husband appeared for B2 tourist visa interview on 22nd Feb 2018.
Interview went this way
VO. Hi can I have your passports
We. Gave the passports
VO. Did u apply before to my husband
My hubby. No
VO. I see f4 process active on ur name
Me. No madam we never applied before and the present category we applied for is B2 not F4. At that point we not at all aware as Wat the f4 visa is meant for .
VO. Tell me your Date of birth to my husband
My hubby. Told date of birth
VO. Asked how vishweshwar rao related to u to my husband.
My hubby. He is my father.
VO. Than ur father relative who is US citizen applied f4 visa. We were so confused. And she gave us back the passports with rejection under 214 (b)
Later we discussed with my husband's parents about the rejection and about the questions. Than we were informed that my father in law's real brother submitted the petition back in and around 1995 for f4 visas for entire family in India. However no one here from India persued it further due to family reasons. Same wasn't known to my husband since he was under age while his uncle filed petition for f4 and most of the time he was away for studies.
Since my husband never had reasons or intensions to settle in USA, we never got any discussion about f4 in the family.
Now my husband's first cousin is getting married to Houston born and brought gal. So we applied for B2 visa to attend the wedding which was rejected under 214 (b).
Now we scheduled appointment again to appear for interview.
My husband owns a house and car here in India. My husband works for MNC and I am a permanent employee of for govt of India. I also own a property here. Since I and husband are well settled here we don't have any intensions to migrate to USA.
Please advise as how do we proceed further so that we get our B2 visa approved.
