  • My Parents got visa today at Chennai Consulate

    Hello

My parents got visa today at Chennai Consulate.

    Questions asked to my father

    1)When did you retire?
2)What is your monthly source of income?
3)when did your daughter visit India?
4)When did you meet your daughter and soninlaw altlast?
5)Is your brother is a US Citizen?
6)When did you meet your brother atlast?
7)Did you make any arrangements for your travel?

That's it vo informed my father that your visa is approved and pay the fees. Not a single question was asked to my mother and also they didn't check any documents.Just gone through the forms DS 156 AND 157 of my Father and mother and asked questions.

Infact we were worried as in my parents case my father's brother is US Citizen and my sister and brother inlaws both are Greencard holders. But my parents got visa withput any problem.

Thanks for everyone who contributed in this mesage board and which helps us a lot to prepare for the interview and for preparing the documents.

Just tell them the truth and be confident and be positive while approaching the VO.

    Regards
    Prasad

Hi COuld you help me with this.

My Parents have an interview at CHennai on June 19,2006. I'm preparing the documents to send to my parents. My question is, Should my parents send these documents 5 days earlier to the VFS or is it only necessary to carry the documents to the interview? If so, Can they send this to the VFS in Cochin?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Sending the docs in 5-days advance is applicable to Mumbai consulate only. For rest of theconsulate the applicant(s) needs to carry the documents
