B2 Visa denied request suggestion

Hi,
I have applied for B1/B2 visa which got denied for which I am unable to figure out reason pls suggest so that I can succeed in getting visa in next attempt

Visa type applied for B1/B2
Travel plan specific 19Nov arrival SFO departure 25 Nov with flight details mentioned
Sponsor :Friend in USA who is on L1 since Jun 2016
Marital status :married with no kids
Job :senior manager with airline offering discounted ticket

Questions I faced
VO: What is the purpose of visiting USA
Me: on a vacation for tourism and visit my friend in San Jose
VO:Why do you want to visit USA only now
Me:since I got my leave sanction only during November and my friend who is in San Jose could also geting leave during the same time

Vo:what do you do for your living
Me:Woking as Sr manager for an airline

Vo :annual salary
Me:xxL pa

Vo :are you single or married
Me:married

Vo:why your wife not accompany you
Me:since she is pregnant I couldn't take her along

Vo:duration of trip
Me:7 days

Vo:do you have any other work in USA
Me:No I am going only for tourism purpose

Vo:you do not qualify for us visa
Me: thank you

Passport returned with form 214(b) no documents asked/checked

Is my visa denied Becoz of such a short trip and specific trip or applying for B1/B2 visa instead of Only B2 or any other reason pl help.

First, the decision is not based on interview only. There are various factors being considered.

Second, you should have applied for B2 visa only - since your purpose was tourism alone (No business requirement).

Third, What is your role in Airline company? Certain scientists, soldiers & pilots need more verification.
