  • B2 Visa for Child Age 5 years in Visa Interview waiver program

    Hi All,

Need your suggestion for following query.

I have a B1/B2 visa 4 years back and have traveled 4 times to US and returned within permitted time. Now I am going for a business meeting and would like to take my wife and kids with me. But I filled DS 160 only for my wife as I read that for kids it will be no interview if both parents have a VISA. But in some post I read that VO are calling parents as well who are applying for kids and interview them and if they don't find very satisfying answer they are cancelling parents visa as well. My wife Visa interview is in couple of days, so I was just wondering that should my wife say in interview that we are planning to take the child now and will be applying for him later once she gets one or we should just go ahead with her visa. In case my wife gets the visa is there anytime gap I should wait before applying for my Kid B2 Visa.

There was no bad/negative motive behind doing this except for saving the visa fees for kids in case both wife and kids application got rejected at first time.

    Please give your valuable suggestion.

    Thanks,
    MJ

There is no such rule that the family need to apply together.

Since you did not filed kids's application, then better to stick to one thing. Upon question she can mention that kid will stay with grand parents.

Later you can change your mind to apply for kids visa & take him with you.
