  • F-2 Visa or B-2 Visa for my Wife

    Hello All,

I am in a dilemma. Currently I am on my OPT (Exp: May 2019). I am getting married on Jan 2019 and wanted to do my honeymoon in US (April 2019). I am confused which visa should I apply for my wife. F-2 or B-2 Visa? Which has lesser chance of denial? Please help!!!

F2 will be easiest (after marriage) for your wife - getting an B2 for your wife after marriage will be difficult.

Thanks for the quick response Libra_14. I am thinking of applying to B-2 visa before marriage for her as a tourist. Which one do you think will be best course B-2 before marriage or F-2 after marriage? Thanks in Advance!

Getting an B2 before marriage will be a good option, but does she qualify for that? Does she have proper financial support to prove her strong ties to her home country? Usually young bachelors don't get B2 so easily.

I would still suggest to have her get F2 directly.
