  • Visa for parents - complicated issue - please help

    Hi there,
I have a question regarding VISA application for my parents and my college attending younger sister.

I am a student (on F1) and am currently on an internship. I dont earn much.

My husband (on H1b) just switched jobs and he may not be able to send current company's pay stubs. However he has a solid Income tax filing for the past three years (employed in a different company)

My parents can show funds themselves. In that case should we (my husband and I) show any affidavit of support or is it better to state that they can sponsor themselves.

Is it better for me to send the invitation (because I have stronger ties) or is it better if my husband (because he has been here for longer and has been earning for a longer time) sends the invitation?

My I-20 expires in december 2006. So can I say that they are coming for my graduation? In that case, if I am the inviter, will they get visa only for 6 months or will they still get for 10 years?

Also should they say that I will change my status to H4 and live with my husband after graduation?

When they applied for VISA (in teh application form thats submitted) there is a different address than where we are currently residing (because my husband changed jobs). Is that a problem? Should we tell teh consulate about the change of our address?

I am sorry about too many questions. I am worried. Please respond. Their interview is scheduled in 3 weeks and I am just starting to send the documents. Please help.

    thanks much and best regards,
    Preethi

As long as you, your husband or your parents can show that there is enough money to support the visit, it doesn't matter.

It does not matter that your husband switch jobs recently.

Both you and your husband can jointly write invitation letter.

Pay stub, I797 and employment letter

      Thanks KKK.

Because my husband has recently changed jobs, can I show his

      - Old I797 (old, because we dont have new yet)
      - Pay stubs from the old company ( he would not have received pay from his new company by then)
      - Employment letter from the new company

      Is that okie?

      Many thanks. Please confirm.
