Did visa officer ask any docs ?.

Dear friends,

My parents (uneducated, they dont know the english even a bit) visa got rejected today at US Chennai Consultate (23-Jun-06) and they simple asked the following 2 questions:

1. why are going to USA ?.
visit my son.... ( they did not allow to talk more)

2. how many kids you have ?.
1 son 1 daugter

my questions:

1. do my parents have show supporting docs voulantarily ?.
2. do we need to give only I-157 and I-156 and passport , and if they ask only do we need to provide more docs ?.

Kindly share your parents experience on this.

They have to show supporting docs only when asked for. They take only the DS-156 , DS-157 and passport initially as per the posting made by others on this forum.

Did you book regional language appointment for them? If so, there would be a translator who would have helped communicating.

And also except DS-156, DS-157 and passport, all the other documents should be given only if they ask for.
