  • Visa for brothers and sisters

Hello, I would appreciate any help regarding the following.
My sister's(34yrs) visitor visa was rejected twice. She works in the school my mom runs and have documents to support her job and salary. She does not have children yet. In the last interview she was asked to show the supporting documents that we sent from US and asked the following questions
    1. Do you have children?
    No
    2. what does your husband do?
he is in real estate business
    3. do you have children?(yes, asked again!)
    No

she was then told that the visa could not be issued. We are planning to apply again this year. Any advice and suggestions is appreciated

    Thanks

What was the reason given for rejection?
Did she attend the interview alone? or with your mother (do you have any siblings in India other than sister?)
    Thx

First time she and my mother went together. That was second time for my mother. she had five years visa that expired and so she went for the interview with my sister. My mother got 10yrs visa with out any difficulty as she had been to US and always stayed only for less than 4 months but my sister's was rejected. This time my sister went again alone. They did not verbally give any reasons. She was asked only 3 questions. After asking twice about children they said "sorry we couldn't issue the visa" but inthe form it was marked that the documents were not sufficient. I have another sister and her family with two children and my brother's family with two children in chennai. My parents and my sister's husband family live there too. My sister is highly educated with two master degrees- which we thought could be the reason for rejection. But we had the following doocuments to prove she would go back after 3 months- which honestly is our plan.

      letter from her husband
letter from president of the school trust she works saying she was granted leave of absence for 3 months and will join inthe job again
copy of 'to and return' tickets blocked- which clearly stated the return date
documents of land that she own in chennai
      her job appointment letter
other usual documents to show that me and my husband will support her.

      Thanks
