  • B1/B2-Interview Waiver Program-Administrative Processing??

    Greetings all,

I am a permanent resident of Canada applying for a 2nd 10 year visa from Ottawa. Previous B1/B2 visa was issued in Feb 2009 and just expired a few days ago. Followed the procedures to apply for another same category visa and the instructions say to courier in application. Looks like part of the Interview Waiver Program. Application was received by US Embassy last Friday (Feb 15) and I was checking the DS-160 status today and found out the status is now ?Administrative Processing?.

Should I be worried about this status? I have a travel planned in 14 days. I googled and it says administrative processing can take up to a couple months time..

Any sharing of experience/thoughts would be much appreciated.

    Thanks guys!

Yes, no body knows for sure on how long this admin processing will take:

This thread showing people waiting for months to get their visa.

The best way is to call local embassy & check the status.

Hi! This is basically a process and I hope you will be issued visa within few days and get your passport back rather they told everyone that they need clearance from US Dept. of State. However, they put this annotation on the website in between passport received & issuance of visa. I'm pretty sure that they already approved your interview waiver and on the way to issue the visa. Usually they took longer time for clearance for newbie (min. one month). So don't worry, you will be getting your visa soon. Regards

Update: passport has been delivered by courier yesterday (Friday). A new 10 year visa has been issued. Looks like the ?administrative processing? status took about 2 days before changed under ?visa issued?.

Thanks guys. Good luck to all.
