I recently changed jobs and I am sponsoring for my parents very soon.
I joined my new employer on June 19.
I quit from my old employer on Jun 16.
H1B was filed by my new employer.
I have a letter from the lawyer of the new employer saying the following.
On 06/19/2006, we have received a notice from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) confirming receipt of your H-1B petition. Currently, the USCIS is taking up to 120 days to process these types of cases.
You can check on the status of your case by going to the following website:
and typing in the following 13-character receipt number:
xxx-xx-xx-xxxxx
When I key in this receipt number on the url provided, it looks like they have received the petition and currently they are processing what they got in Febraury. So our petition will not be processed anytime before the interview date.
So what should I send to my parents apart from old I-797? Please respond.
thanks much,
