  • Parent's got their Visitor's visa from Chennai

Just wanted to share the news that my parents got their visitor's visa. Uncross your fingers, Chennai consulate has been really good with Parent's visa these days.

I will post the interview questions in a day or two.

Thanks to Immihelp and all the people in this forum!

    Here are the details:

    Issues we were worried:

    Both daughters abroad.
    Dad retired.
Change in Dad's passport number after taking appointment.
    Moderate income in India
    No fixed property etc.

    Questions asked:

What does your son-in-law do? asked for papers.

    what is your annual income?

thats it visa granted, yet to know the duration.

We referred only to this site and prepared documents accordingly. Thanks a lot for the guidance.

After appointment your father got another passport with different number??

If the answer is true...how can we modify in DS-156??

My mother got new passport after we took the appointment becase of lastname was not typed correctly in first passport.

      She has appointment in AUG.

      Thanks alot

we filled another DS 156 form from the website manually and he took it along with him. This form had the new passport no. In short he had two DS 156 ready with him at the interview. We also called and emailed the consulate and both times they said it was no problem provided he had both the new and old passport with him.

          Thanks shanpai...

I will ask my mother to take 2 DS-156 forms. Planning to fill another DS-156 with new passport details.
Do i need to write a letter specifying about this new passport or is it ok if my mother explains about it??

          Thanks
