I am sponsoring my in-laws for a visit and they have an interview scheduled at the Bombay Consulate on Oct 20, 2006. I will be completing 6 years on my H-1B visa as of Sep 25, 2006 and my employer is pursuing an H-1 extension based on labor certification being filed for over a year.
Looking at the current processing times, chances are that the 'Notice of Approval' for my H-1 will not come through by the time my in-laws go for interview. If they were to just take the papers indicating that the sponsor's extension has been filed and is being processed, does that put their visa request at risk? Apart from premium processing, is there another option you could suggest?
Thanks,
Naresh
