  • Question on "Have You Ever Been Refused a U.S. Visa?"

Can someone please answer this question.

My parents came to USA twice on visitors visa. Both times they got one year visa. 2nd time when they came, we applied for their extension for 6 months and their extension was denied. They left immediatly after that notice.

Now I would like to send my parents for Visa again to Chennai. What should I write for "Have You Ever Been Refused a U.S. Visa?" question in DS-156 form?

As their visa never refused should I write NO. Or even the extension petition is considered visa so that I need to write YES.

I really appreciate if someone can answer it.

    Thanks.

Write NO. Extension denial is for the stay and not the visa. Visa is only applied for at the embassies. So their visa was never refused.
