My parents went to make affidavit today for their properties in India.
I suggested them to declare all the properties they have in each of their affidavits so that the total would be little significant (around 14 lakhs)
However apparently the notary said that they should make 2 seperate affidavits with the property they each have on theri name only and not mention the spouse's property in their individual affidavit.
My mother has a house on her name with some jewellery (10 lakhs) and my father has few bank deposits , fixed deposits (of 4 lakhs)
My mother doesnt have any bank account on her name.
So is it ok to make affidavits like that. If the VO asks for affidavits, they want to present both affidavits. If the VO asks my mother if she has bank account, she will say that my husband has one and show the passbook.
is it ok to do that way or is it good to declare everything in both affidavits.
Also do they need to make affidavits on 20Rs stamp paper or 100Rs.
please clarify
