passport receipt time after visa issuance in chennai consulate

Hi,
Both my parents appeared for a US visitor visa interview on August 4th (Friday) in chennai, and were granted the visa and were asked to pay the issuance fee of Rs.2300 per person. On August 7th (Monday), my father had obtained his visa stamped passport from the vfs office in chennai. My mother's passport has not yet arrived and it has been a whole week (August 4 - 11) after the visa issuance....can anyone advise if this is has happened to anyone, and if so when should i start getting concerned about the delay in getting my mothers passport...and what can i do -- if anything? vfs office folks say there is some backlog and it should be arriving soon...but dont know till when we should wait. thanks in advance for anyone responding...

You can track your passport on VFS first to see the status. If it says they handed it over to blue dart then go to http://www.bluedart.com and check theradio button for reference number (second option) and enter the passport number. You can track it that way.
