Hi all, my visitor visa was granted yesterday in Delhi. I had nice white man, and only documents he asked to see were my company letter, and marriage certificate & wife's passport, (she is American citizen). I had written my cover letter and inserted it in my passport as guided by some nice folks on this site. He put it aside at first, then in the end read it, and told me my visa is granted. Did not ask to see any bank papers, or anything. I was self sponsored.
One thing for others to be aware of is that even if you have bought your Demand Draft for Rs 2300 before 7 August, you still have to pay the extra 100 rupees. I called VFS yesterday morning to ask about this, as I had bought my DD on 3 August. She told me I had to cancel the old draft and get new one for 2400. So before interview I did this, and it took one hour. There were many people who were not aware of this, and they were running here and there, and also there are many touts outside across from the embassy selling the drafts for 500 rupees PLUS the 100 for the draft itself, and many were buying them. So actually I guess it is not required to cancel and get new one, as they were accepting the 100 rupees drafts, but maybe not aware there were bank touts outside. Not sure really. So be warned ahead of this just in case. Thanks to all the people on here who helped me prepare, and in the end, I was successful due to all your help. Best of luck to other applicants as well.
