  • Visa for my Parents and sister

    Hi All,

I am trying to get the visa processed for my parents and Sister. My Sister has a health problem due to which she stays with my parents and she is uneducated. I want to get the tourist visa for all the 3.
When ever i discuss this issue with anybody of my friends / Collegues . They say that it is difficult to get the Visa for my sister. I need your advice to proceed further so that all the three can get the Visa. My parents cannot come here for visiting leaving my sister alone there.

Please help me and guide me.

    Thank you!!

Ok. You know visitor visa is a tricky process and it depends a lot on the
type of officer who interviews you.
Some officers approve what others deny.

If all three of them apply, they will have no family ties in INdia to show.
I suggest your mother and your sister apply and travel first. That way
your mother will have 2 important ties to India; her job and her husband.
She can tell the officer they are going for a trip of about 2 months.
(She will have to show NOC cum leave sanction from her office).
Make sure she has a good salary and good funds to show for self financing the trip.

If all 3 apply together, make sure you ask for a very short period of stay (ex: 2 months). Even if they ask for 2 months, they may still get a 10yr visa. Even if they get a 2 month visa, they may still get 6 months at the port of entry. Hence, asking for a short time frame increases their chances while they also have a 90% chance of staying for 6 months with validity from POE.

Visa for my parents and sisters

            Hi

Thank you very much for the response.

Will the health problem of my Sister create any problem, as she also uneducated and unmarried. will they ask questions about these. Any idea What type of questions they may ask about her. Do i have to take the Medical insurance for her here before they go to consulate.

            Thank you!!

I don't think your sister's health will be a problem. You don't need to take any medical insurance upfront. If asked, your parents can say that they will take the insurance once VISA is approved and before they start their travel.

There are so many old aged parents (75+ yrs) with health problems like heart related/diabetes/BP etc who are being granted tourist visas. I am sure she has the right to visit any country of her choice even when she is sick as long as she can prove her ties with the home country. If one has a 'contagious' disease like chicken pox, HIV etc that would be a concern for the visa officers.

Sorry to hear about your sister's health. Good luck to your family!!
