  • parents told me they got visa

    Friends

My dad told me they got visa. Here are the preliminary details.

My parents visa had expired in Jan 99. This will be their second visit.

Went at 08:45 am on Sep 28 2006 Thursday.

Went inside, made to sit as Senior Citizen.

Asked which language my dad said Kannada by mistake.

They were made to wait quite some time till I think 11 am. My dad then asked whats going on, the person said you said Kannada so wait. Then my dad said I can understand Telugu but cannot speak Telugu.'

One nice Indian person looked at all the docs. Then said go pay the money.

My parents paid the money. They were told to wait for the pp.

Not sure which docs they took which were given back. Will fill you in with details as and when I get it.

Thanks for all the help and to everyone for their input.

    Friends,

    Here are the details.

Parents went at 08:45 am. At 09:00 hrs they were asked to be inside. A lady took their papers old and new passports. Told them it will come inside kindly go ahead.

They went in and sat. A lady came and said which language. My dad said Kannada (he got confused). Then they said wait.

They then took the fingerprints of my dad and then my mom. They asked my parents to wait.

My parents waited till 11 am. My dad got a little impatient and said we are waiting for a long time. I can understand Telugu but cannot speak so I can answer back in English.

One nice Indian officer came and asked him in Telugu I guess

    What you were doing.

My dad answered that he was working in Court and my mom was school teacher. They are both retired. They asked

    How many children.
    My mom said one son.

    What about daughter ?
    My mom no daughter.

At this time a Kannada speaking person came and asked you have only one son why dont you go live there ?

My dad: No no, I get pension, my wife gets pension, I get rent.
My mom: We have relatives here around us they come and go we visit them. We dont want to stay there.

The Kannada speaking person came and said, sir you got the visa. Please go and pay. You will get passports to your house in a week.

They gave back all the docs including the I-134. They only took the new passports and the DS156 and DS157 for my parents.

My dad paid the money and got the recipt.

His receipt has the right passport number but my moms passport number is in correct in the receipt. I am presuming this is a clerical error, but will wait for the passport.

Thanks to all of you. Infact A BIG THANK YOU.

    Regards,
    -Naraharu

It was a mixture of English and Kannada in the interview. The VO was a Telugu person first and then a Kannada person.

They got the visa for 10 years multiple entry.
