  • Question on DS156

    Hi,

My parents are going for a B2 visa interview on 28th of this month for the second time. My husband filled in thier DS-156 and DS-157 applications and we took the appointment from here and we have sent the documents.

My question, #26 on the 156 form, regarding how many months of intended stay in US, I dont remember what we wrote, IF we had written 6 months, and if my parents ask the VO that they intend to stay for 3 months will that be a problem. In that case can my parents change that part with pen.

    Please let me know.

    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Nitu

is it possible to edit the DS 156 application (online) once the interview date is confirmed?

            Yes,

You can update the form online, after the interview date has been confirmed. On the VFS site, once you click on the Apply for Non Immigrant Visa (after the interview date is confirmed), it will ask you for name and HDFC details. After filling them, since you have already used this HDFC number, it gives options to take a new appointment, or update an existing one. When you will be taken to a page where all your documents, DS-156, DS-157 will be listed, you can now update and save them. The interview date does not get affected by this.

But there is time factor as to until when the document can be updated, before the interview date, I dont remember this. If anyone knows about that, it might be helpful.
