  • B2 Visa for 3 months

    My mom was denied visa 2 times before so today finally she got B2 visa for 1 month with no adjustments and extentions that exprires Feb 2007.
    The dilema is that I will be delivering a baby in the end of April 2007 and I would rather her to come then to help me out first month.
    Should she travel now in December for 1-2 weeks to show that she had no intend immigrating or should she not travel now and reapply in April for a new B2 visa.
    What is better to do in order not to loose chances of her coming to visit me in April.
    Thank you

    Is there any note (annotation) on her visa?
    She should travel some days before the expiry of the visa; that is early feb 07. At the port of entry she will be asked about her period of stay ; she should say 3-4 months . The expiry date of her stay will be stamped on a card I-94. It does not matter if the visa expires during her stay there
    but she should not stay beyond the date on her I-94 card.

      B2 Visa for 3 months (no extentions)

      Yes, there is annotation. It says 1 month (no extentions and no adjustment)
      This worries me that if my mom comes on the last day of her expiration they will not extend it or will extend it only for one month. I will be delivering a baby end of April.

        If she comes in Feb; she will only be able to stay till march because she won't be allowed to extend.

        Since you want her there in april, there are only 2 options;
        1. She travels in Nov. and returns in Dec. Reapplies in March.
        What reason will she give for travelling so fast? Has she told them you are pregnant?
        2. She travels in feb and overstays her allowed stay. You can use this option
        if she is not worried about coming again on a visitor visa because if she overstays, she won't get another visitor visa.

          Thank you for your advice.
          No she will not tell about pregnancy. I heard as soon as you say that you are going to help with birth/child they deny visa right away.
