Questions- please help!

Hi,

1. Is DS 157 is required? my FIL is 59 years old. I have filled in DS 156 and not sure if I need DS 157 or not.

2. Employment letter- my wife has a letter from April form her manager that she used to sponser her mom and wanted to see if the same can be used for her father, whose appt is in Dec?? Meaning can 7 month employment letter be considered valid?

Reason is her manager is out on vacation due to holidays..

3. Similary for paystubs? She just joined and has just one recent paystub and some are old from beginning this year.. Do you see any issues??

Please advice. We have had my parents rejected 3 times.. and now I just want to take any chances..

1. No, not for him. Read /us-visa-and-immigration-forms/ds-157.html

2. She should try to get a new letter. It is not a good idea to use such an old letter. In absence of manager, go to HR or other higher management.

3. If she just joined recently, how come she has employment letter from April? Has she changed jobs? Has she been working continuously? She should send several prior consecutive pay stubs.

Is there any harm in filling DS-157 even if the applicant is over 55 years?

Yes, if the officer potentially discovers something negative in the information you provide in DS-157 when it is not required.
