My parents have an appointment later this month at Mumbai and we recently learned that one cannot mail supporting/interview documents to vfs anymore, you have to either hand-deliver them or have someone else do that for you.
So my father travelled 500km just to hand deliver the documents. There VFS declined to accept the documents because they were not happy with the pictures. The photos were done by a professional photographer and all the instructions according to USCIS guidelines were given to him.
The vfs people had their photographer snap my dad's picture, but my mother's picture is still required and now she is supposed to travel to mumbai just for the sake of that.
I find this entire procedure very ridiculous and inconsiderate. If you want hand delivered documents for every visa applicant, why not open more stations throughout the state that would accept such applications. In Maharashtra, there is only 3 places: Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad. Why was Nagpur excluded?
Anyone had similar experiences? And how did you deal with it?
