Mumbai Dates ??

Hello Everybody,

I have been unsuccessfully trying to get an appointment at the Mumbai consulate for a week.

The calender for Mumbai does not appear at all, it only seems to appear for New Delhi and Chennai.

Am i missing something or is it that there are no dates available in Mumbai at the moment

Join the club....well i've been trying to get dates for Mumbai as well...there are no dates available at this time....

Well don't know why US consulate is blocking future dates, we cannot plan anything ahead of time. They keep telling us that we should check vfs site regularly, does that mean we should keep polling vfs site every now and then just to check availabilty. This is horrible. Well I am glad that I am in US and internet access is available 24/7 out here at cheap price, but what about the folks in India who might have to visit Internet Cafe just for checking the availabilty.

I agree with you. I am in USA trying to book appointment for my parents in tamil, i am checking from Jan 1st week, now we are not able to plan anything based on this.
I would like to request all you people who are all searching for the dates to join in this thread so that if any one come to know that dates are open immeidately we can inform others

Well the only hope is if someone gets some info to pass it on...otherwise..no hope from VFS....Lets hope for the best and move on

I have been try 10-15 times a day from the US without success.

This is an excerpt from the reply i got from [email protected]:-

"At present the dates are not available for the Mumbai Consulate. Kindly keep checking the website regularly for the earliest available dates as the Consulate releases dates on a regular basis. The allocation the interview appoints on VFS website is the sole discretion of the Embassy / Consulate".

When my sister called, they asked her to try at the end of the week!.

Does anyone know when dates were last released for Mumbai ??

Has anybody got a feb interview date for mumbai??(for those who are already in receipt of interview dates).

As one of the postings suggested , please let us know when anyone sees dates available.

This is an excellent website for matters of this nature, continue the good work.

Ø The seat allocation is the prerogative of the Embassy/Consulate. As and when the dates are allocated by the Consulate, the same reflects on the VFS website. You may check the website for earliest available dates.

I got the above response from vfs for the date availablility of chennai/mumbai consulates

I saw dates in December for February and that time i thought it is easily available...bcos the US consulate website stated that the wait time for interview is 15 days and i didn't take it at that time. i didn't know that we cud also have such issues in getting dates...hopefully they will release dates end of the week....lets wait and watch...

man i am struggling to get an appointment at mumbai for feb 13 since last 2 weeks. Just FYI Last week i saw Feb 2 available but within hours it was gone. I am hoping that they release the dates atleast 1 week before the wanted date, bcoz mumbai consulate need us to send docs 5 days b4 appointment.

I booked a date for Feb 2nd for my MIL. This was around Dec 30th. I saw that there were a ton of dates they released from Feb 1 through Feb 15 or so, but they were gone in a couple of days.
Based on that, I would project that at the end of this month, they should release dates for March. Keep checking EVERYDAY even though its a big inconvenience - bcos, unfortunately, that seems to be the only way.

Hi.. When the dates were available in Dec, were they available throughout the day or were they available only during specific time periods in the day? I am in the USA and trying to book an appointment. I mostly check for appointments during the day time here, which is night time in India. So just wondering if it makes a difference if I check for availability during the business hours in India. Are there any tips on when in the best time (in IST) to check for appointments?

Mumbai Dates

Hi...

I too haven't seen any dates for Mumbai lately...but, wanted to share the experience I had when scheduling my H1-B visa stamping dates more than a year ago. These new scheduling rules came into effect on October 3, 2005, and that's exactly when I scheduled my appt. I noted that appts were easily available at around 1 AM to 2 AM EST...around March 2006 too my friends noticed the same...not sure if that is the trend presently too, but you could give it a shot!
