Hi Immihelp,
This whole visa processing is very troubling.. i mean i don't know for what reason i am so scared..but if you could please advise me it would be great...
I had sent an email to the VFS center regarding the question that my parents have recently moved from Dubai and if they can apply in India for a visitor visa before 6 months. I received the following response :
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your mail,
If you are resident in India, you are required to appear for an
interview at
the visa section having jurisdiction over the territory where you have
been
residing since the past 6 months or more.
My interpretation of this is that they have to complete their 6 months in teh state and then apply for the visa. What is your opinion on this?
How often do they ask for proof of residence? Also, as per the new law anyone who speaks English can apply at consulates in Delhi, mumbai or chennai...how does residency rule apply then? I mean someone staying in Maharashtra can go to Delhi...etc...
I may be thinking too much about it...but i am thinking of sending them teh docs and taking the most recent available date...and leave the rest to destiny...if it will happen it will...
