Question regarding B1/ B2 visa

Dear Sir or Madam,

I currently hold a 5 year B1/B2 visa. I am not in the USA.
My 5 year B1/B2 visa in my passport expires in July 2007. Is it possible to apply and get issued with a new B1/B2 Visa (for 5 or 10 years) before my current one expires or do I need the current one to expire before applying again.
