Moms Visa got Rejected at Chennai

...we opted telugu interview at 8AM today...that lady just asked these q's it seems..

who is there in US?
do u have any other children?

she asked the last Q again it seems...
my mom replied she has ONLY one son...and they denied by giving some form which talks abt ties back 2 india....

they called me half an hour back....
she is highly dissappointed so r we...
looks like my mom is thrid person in that counter all 3 of them got rejected by that telugu speaking indian lady...

don't they give visiting visas 2 only child parents?...

meanwhile if u know any threads/posts which talk abt "single child visa successful stuff" pls let me know so that it serves as a ray of hope for me and my mom...

My Mom's visa also got rejected on same day and time and almost same questions in chennai.

Could someone tell me after how many months we can try for visa again?

parents visa rejected

My parents went to Chennai consulate...Telugu interview...
I would like to reapply visa for them. I am wondering which of the following options are good.
• Schedule interview for both mother and father at the same time
• Schedule interview for mother and father separately?
Which one you guys think is a good idea. Please advice.

No, but i am the only son after two daughter, they are living in India.

We really cant predict what they expect.

My mom took the interview at chennai..telugu speaking lady officer took her interview. similar case here.

mom & dad went to chennai in FEB 06, denied
dad passed away in Nov 06,
Mom went for interview in Feb 07..denied second time..

The officer did not even bother to check if the case status has changed since last rejection. She did not ask for docs. She compared the case with the 1 st rejection and bluntly refused to give.

Mom and I are furious..We are going to re-apply as soon as we can. This time she will pro-actively present her case. The main point in my case is, even if I wait for 6 months or so to re-apply, there will not be any chanage as far as the ties to India are concerned. Now, atleast SYMPATHY could work out..thats the only hope.

To what I learnt from Mom, There is a telugu speaking male officer as well..She will try her luck at that counter this time.

These are the contents:

My parents had an appointment (in English) at the US Consulate in Chennai on Jan-08, 2007 at 12:45PM.

The visa officer was an American lady in her 30s. According to my parents she was very humble and polite.

Here are the questions the VO asked:

VO: Who is in the US?
Mom: Our son is in the US.

VO: What does he do?
Mom: He works as xxxx.

VO: Which company does he work for?
Mom: He works for xxx, inc.

VO: How many children do you have?
Mom: Our son is our only child. We have all other relatives in India and we will come back to India within the authorized time period.

VO: How long has your son been in the US?
Mom: Our son has been in the US for 6 years.

VO: Does your son have a greencard?
Mom: No, our son is on H1B visa.

VO: Is your son married?
Mom: Yes

VO: How many children does your son have?
Mom: Our son has a 2 month old son.

VO: What do you do?
Mom: I am a retired xxxx (profession). (VO was very curious and happy about my Mom's profession)
Dad: I am a retired xxxx (profession).

VO: How long would you like to stay in the US?
Mom: 6 months

VO: Have booked the air tickets?
Mom: No we have not booked the air tickets. We will book the ticket once the Visa is approved (VO similed at this statement)

VO: Enjoy your trip, enjoy time with your grandson. You will be getting your passports within a week.

The overall experience at the consulate was pretty satisfying. My parents were really happy with the VO.

Once my parents get the passport, we will know about the duration of the visa and also whether the visa is Multiple entry or not.

how come they go to anotehr officer if they get call from this counter where they have this telugu speaking lady?
