How to edit a submitted DS-156?

Can you please let me know how to make edits to a DS 156 that's already submitted. My parents interview date is less than a week. I would like to fill all the fileds that were left blank during prior submission. I saw in immihelp instructions that we should either write none or nil in the blank fileds.
Other edit is about the people living in USA. We would like to inform that my parents have Son/Daughter living here and not just Son. Please advise.

What about the red stars in the form?

Thanks for the reply ImmiHelp. I went to modify the DS 156 on VFS website. There it says the following:

* Indicates you cannot modify your saved application. Contact our help line number for further information.


Can you please interpret what that means? Is it referring to the symbol in front of the forms. Right now the symbol is a check mark. So within 48 hour window of the appointment, is it going to be a *.

The reason I am asking is when I clicked on DS 156, the questions I wanted to edit i.e questions 16 and 37, have * in front of them. But it is in a editable state but the above meaning of * really left me wondering. Please advice.

To the best of my knowledge, only first 14 fields are not editable. Rest are.
