Help Needed On Visitors Visa

HAI ,

I am sponsoring my in-law's.They have taken appointment in chennai consulate by filling online application forms ds-156.Appointment is around march mid week.

Now,Do we need to inform to chennai consulate regarding this appointment? or can we go directly to chennai consulate on a given appointment date?

IF I need to inform to consulate ,how can i do that?any website or address?

Did you officially take an appointment at the VFS site.

If Yes then consulate knows about it.
