My parents got their visa on 1st attempt today morning at Mumbai consulate (do not know whether 10 year multiple. Will only know later when they collect passport in the evening).
To give a brief background, my Dad is still working and my mom took voluntary retirement last year and I am the only son. So I thought the worst...however,,,
The VO was a lady and didnt ask much nor she asked any documents (the people ahead were asked many questions..like they spent much time at the counter...and were asked to produce documents..so i guess we were lucky)
First, both my mom n dad wished the mam a Good Morning......
1) To Dad: What does ur son do in US? Ans: Where I work(Company Name and address) and my Designation as in LCA and Employer Verification letter (Didnt show any document nor asked....my dad however says that when he mentioned my designation, she entered it in the computer and stared at the screen for sometime and then just went to the next question)
2) To Dad: How long has he been in the States? Ans: 2.5 years
3) To Dad: What do u do? Ans: Where he works n Designation
4) To Dad: Why do u want to go to States? Ans: To visit tourist locations and meet my son
5) To Mom: How long do you intend to stay in the States? Ans: 3 months
n lo!!!! got the visa(surprise!!!no documents asked).....i guess got lucky....thanks for the site n the people around for helping me out...
