    if you have two checcking accounts and you have 3000 in each, then you need both the bank's verification letter.

    But if you have 10000 in one account, then you just need onw bank verification letter.

    Letter from your Bank (1 original for each applicant) on their business stationary, giving the following details:

    * Date account opened
    * Total amount deposited for the past year
    * Present balance
    * Average balance last year

    Also send copies of few recent bank statements. It should have good balance at least over last 6 months. Do not deposit money into bank just one day before to show big balance, only to withdraw next day. You really should have money to show your financial strength to be able to support the people you are sponsoring. While there is no specific guideline how much money you should have in the bank, it should be enough to take care of all their expenses. Something like $5,000/person should be good enough.

      If I sponsor my parents and does my parents bank statement should also be in the same format:

      * Date account opened
      * Total amount deposited for the past year
      * Present balance
      * Average balance last year

          for anubhav

          Hello anubhav,

          my parents recently went for visa interview. I did send a letter from the bank having all the details sumitha had pointed above.

          Banks like BOA have a specific immigration format. you have to call in customer service and explain to them that you need a immi support doc with all your bank account details and they know what needs to be sent.

          If you can get such letter from the diff bank accounts.. thts great.

          but if you cant, try to send out bank statements that is least stamped by some bank official. If its online banking, you can jus send the printed out statemtns alone ( link ING direct online banking kinda accounts).

          Good luck

            Bank Statement **** URGENT ****

            Thanks for replying folks...
            I think I missed a part of my question last time..let me ask you again..
            If you notice the I-134 form their is a column to enter the ammount from the savings A/c.
            I did not had a saving account earlier so for that reason I opened one in Feb 07.
            Now the question is as per your comments I should have a bank letter telling about the average balance for last year and also should have a good balance from past 6 months.Now in my case if my parents try to get the visa by April then I cant show the 6 months activity for that account.So what should I do, should I use the checking account instead which I have from more than one year...Can I mention the ammount from my checking account in I-134(please note the no. 7 on the form I HAVE ON DEPOSIT IN SAVINGS BANKS IN UNITED STATES)..Please advise

            Thank you
