My brother's wife is ill and she in Medical ICU in Lousiana. MY brother is in F1 visa and my sister in law is in F2 visa. We would like to bring my sis in law's mom here so that she can be with her. Will a letter from her physician be enough for the VO? Do they usually grant visas for a situation like this? I know they usually do not grant visas for pregnancy. But my sis in law is critically ill. Will it work?
Also, since my brother is on F1 visa and since his wife is already a dependant on him, we are not sure whether he can sponsor their visit? His in laws do not have a lot of money in their bank account. My brother's MIL is a school teacher and her husabnd and son will not be applying for the visa and will be back home. (My sis in law only has a brother and he is in India). My brother's MIL's brother is quite rich and is ready to sponser her. Is that OK?
My husband (the visa applican't relation with my husband is that he is the brother in law of the son in law of the applicant) is also ready to sponsor her. Will that be a good idea? He was on F1 visa, but got it changed to H1 visa in Dec 2007 (but is still not stamped).
Any guidance on this issue will be greatly appreciated. Since this is an emergency situtation, we want to make sure that the visa is not rejected.
